Jennifer Ledesma

Executive Assistant and Communications Coordinator

Jennifer is thrilled to be a part of the Satiated Artists team! She is a singer, actor, dancer, and musician currently based in Chicago. A California native, Jennifer moved to the city to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at Columbia College Chicago, and found an artistic home in the city after graduating. Other than performing, her other passions include working towards accessibility, representation, and equality for all. In Southern California, Jennifer worked with organizations like GSA Network and Orange County Human Relations, which seek to improve the livelihood of marginalized communities such as immigrants/refugees, those who identify as LGBTQ+, and BIPOC individuals. She is overjoyed that her EVA position with Jonny Stax Creations gives her the opportunity to contribute to social justice work. Currently, Jennifer is the co-manager of the social media department at The Joy Jackson Initiative, a new organization that offers anti-racist resources and tools to theaters to build systemic equity in the arts. Additionally, she is a Board Member at Chicago Arts Access, which provides accessibility and community within Chicago theatre. Jennifer strives towards a more inclusive and safe world for all underrepresented communities, onstage and off.

Artist Statement

"As a Mexican-American performer, my favorite part about theatre is sharing stories about my community, whether it's acting in a play that highlights my culture, performing a song about immigrant mothers, or devising new work because the story has yet to be written. I aspire to create art that is utilized as activism as there is so much power in making a statement. Marginalized communities should feel celebrated in creating and witnessing theatre. I fell in love with the vibrant, inclusive, and supportive performing arts industry in Chicago as it represents the very reason why I love theatre: it builds community."
