Rosey Lowe

Executive Assistant

Rosey Lowe (they/she) is a multidisciplinary artist who hails from Pittsburgh, PA. Since receiving a BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater Actor Training Program, Rosey has worked as a theater artist and educator around the Twin Cities, Pittsburgh, and most recently, Chicago. Immediately after graduating, Rosey apprenticed with Penumbra Theater Company’s Institute: Pedagogies of Arts for Social Change which inspired them to further orient themselves to the intersections of movement work and the arts. This led them to accept a program coordinator position at New City, an abolitionist Minneapolis based church-plant focusing on racial and environmental justice. Through their organizing work at New City, Rosey was introduced to Somatic Experiencing Therapy and continues to explore how to implement those techniques into collaborative processes and artistic practices. In their free time, you’ll likely find Rosey looking at a tree, getting lost in a watercolor project, or spending entirely too much time curating a playlist.

Artist Statement

"Whether it be gathered in a theater, or around a fire, I am always grateful to be the recipient of a story. I believe storytelling allows us to foster meaningful connections to one another and emboldens people to imagine new realities. I consider creativity a birthright, and find joy in collaborating with others to unearth and give shape to the stories already alive in our bodies."
