Cal Kreiner

Operations/Social Media Coordinator and Account Manager

Cal is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works in theatre as a director and actor. Originally from Greenville, MI. Cal holds a BFA in Acting from Western Michigan University and is based in Chicago. As a theatre artist, Cal is primarily interested in creating new, innovative performances that tell (primarily Queer) stories reimagining the potential for our world and the ways we relate to each other. He is also interested in questioning the traditional ways in which art is made, in order to make it more equitable, accessible, and just.

Outside of theatre, Cal utilizes his artistic and professional experiences to do work focused on information gathering/analysis, creative ideation, and relationship building. His inspirations include people like Brene Brown, Martha Beck, Priya Parker, and Elizabeth Gilbert.

When not making art or hanging around the office, Cal loves to spend his time reading, exploring the outdoors, and hosting “family dinners” for his partner and their friends.

Artist Statement

"As a theatre artist, Cal is interested in creating art that questions traditional theatre making processes to create a more equitable, collaborative, and just art form. He believes the best theatre tells stories with intention and builds connections to serve and support the community. Beyond entertainment, Cal wants to create art that will allow us all to collectively imagine a new way of being."
